Physician’s private La Jolla collection to be auctioned

Kaminski Auctions has been commissioned to sell the private collection of a physician who lives in an oceanfront John Lloyd Wright-designed La Jolla home. This lifelong collection features European, Persian and American antique furniture, carpets, fine art paintings and antiquities.

A preview will be offered in La Jolla from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 24 at 1700 Torrey Pines Road. A preview of the items will also take place at Kaminski Auctions’ Beverly, Mass., location. The auction is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 27. Previews are also available beginning at 8 a.m. the day of the sale.

Kaminski Auctions, headed by Frank Kaminski, specializes in appraising and auctioning fine antiques from estates throughout New England and Southern California.

The firm’s clientele includes institutions, businesses, local historical societies and private individuals. The Rosary Academy in Watertown, McLean Hospital in Belmont and the Sisters of Mercy in Manchester, N.H., are among its many nonprofit clients.

Kaminski successfully sold the Gov. James Michael Curley house in Boston, handled the estate of Lisa Loeb, a prominent Boston-based collector, as well as the Joseph Fine estate in Cambridge.

Businesses such as Brooks Brothers and Abercrombie & Fitch rely on Kaminski for inventory sales.

Dealers and collectors consider Kaminski as an important source of period antiques, oriental rugs, jewelry, silver, porcelain and fine art.
