“Jews Rock! A Photographic Celebration of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s Jewish Heritage” will show March 10 through May 19 at the Gotthelf Art Gallery at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center in La Jolla.

“Jews Rock!” reveals key Jewish music icons through the award-winning photographs of photojournalist Janet Macoska. Since 1974, Macoska has been capturing rock’s greatest on film. Among the publications that have used her photos are Rolling Stone, People, US, Vogue, American Photo, Creem, 16 Magazine, The New York Times and London Times.

VH1 and other TV and film productions regularly use Macoska’s vast rock archive for their “rockumentaries.” Her work is in the permanent collection of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum; The National Portrait Gallery in London; and in Hard Rock Cafe restaurants, casinos and hotels all around the world. David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and The Kinks are just some of the artists who have used her work on their CDs.

Gallery hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday-Friday. For more information, call (858) 457-3030.
