Peters declines Coastal Commission spot
Former First District City Councilman Scott Peters, currently a member of the Port Commission, has declined an appointment as an alternate member of the Coastal Commission.
“The Attorney General has concluded that there is an incompatibility of office between California Coastal Commissioner and San Diego Port Commissioner that prevents any person from holding both offices,” said Peters in a letter. “I wish to remain on the Port Commission, where I have important work on economic development and environmental protection in the San Diego region.”
