Promote La Jolla will host its inaugural La Jolla Pet Parade and Festival on May 16, the business group announced Monday.
The Spay Neuter Action Project (SNAP), founded by La Jollan Candy Schumann, will partner with Promote La Jolla on the day’s festivities.
Funds raised will aid SNAP and the Feral Cat Coalition in developing a low-income, high-volume spay and neuter clinic.
In addition to a parade of pets, there will be vendor booths, featuring products for, or about, pets, at the main festival location in the Union Bank parking lot.
Details of the event are still being worked out, according to an e-mail announcement from Tiffany Sherer, PLJ executive director.
For a $50 sponsorship fee, participating businesses will be listed as participants and will receive a removable decal indicating they are participants, she wrote.
