Parking discussion postponed until Jan. 2009
An agenda item at La Jolla Traffic & Transportation (T&T) Board’s Dec. 18 meeting to discuss a proposal to extend parking limits in portions of La Jolla from 60 to 90 minutes was delayed until the group’s next meeting in January.
The T&T Board is comprised of representatives from Promote La Jolla, the community’s Business Improvement District, and local planning advisory groups. The board makes recommendations to the city on traffic and transportation issues.
The board also heard a report from the city on ongoing water pipe replacement. Waverly Street improvements at Bird Rock Park, which include a new gate and improvements to make the park handicap-accessible, were also discussed at length. The board supports the city’s plans, though many residents voiced displeasure that the scope of the project has become much larger than originally envisioned.
Parking and curb changes at The Children’s School were also discussed by the group.
