Pageant to aid Wounded Warriors

On Sept. 7, a spokesmodel will be selected at the Miss Verve Finals, a fundraiser to bring the Wounded Warriors Project to the attention of the community.

The Wounded Warriors Project supports severely injured service men and women.

Beverly Hosford, a local fitness professional, will represent La Jolla among 37 other women. She is a personal trainer and joint specialist who practices at La Jolla’s Finest Training on Bishops Lane. She is being sponsored by local businesses including La Jolla’s Finest Training, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza and Roppongi.

The public can help by voting for $2 or by attending the pageant for $10, with all proceeds benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project.
