Padres host Transit Tuesdays

From April through to August, Padres fans have a chance to recieve a discount on their tickets for every Tuesday baseball game held at PETCO Park if they ride public transportation to the game.

The program, which started Tuesday, April 1, allows Padres fans to recieve a $6 discount on any ticket priced $12 or more, excluding Right Field Pavilion and Western Metal Supply Building Rooftop Bleachers.

“The Padres are thrilled to be partnering with MTS in offering Transit Tuesday discounts for riders of public transportation,” said Richard Andersen, general manager of PETCO Park. “We are promoting a number of green initiatives and riding public transportation to the ballgame is one of the easiest ways people can get on the ‘green’ bandwagon.”

The Padres are promoting the program as a great opportunity for fans holding MTS monthly passes, COASTER tickets or COASTER monthly passes to recieve a discount and avoid traffic congestion.

“This is the first year we have offered such a great opportunity for Padres fans and transit riders,” said Paul Jablonski, chief executive officer of MTS. “They’ll get a great deal on Padres tickets, save even more money by not paying for gas and parking, and get dropped off right at the front door to PETCO Park. Riding public transportation also contributes to a healthier planet. It’s the green way to go.”
