The La Jollla Beach and Tennis Club will host the 120th Annual Pacific Coast Men’s Doubles Tennis Championship from March 5-8.
College teams from around the country, including Cal, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Texas A & M, and Pepperdine. But the event is an open tournament so many local teaching pros and top junior players will compete as well, according to club officials.
Tournament admission is free and open to the public. There is a nominal fee for on-site parking.
This year marks the 67th anniversary of the championship being held at the La Jolla club. The tournament was first held in Northern California starting in 1890 and Dwight D. Davis was one of the original competitors.
