Not only will Saturday's art project be a special way to leave a lasting mark on the Village, it promises to be a memorable day of family entertainment.
The foundation has organized several food trucks to be there and plans to give out jelly beans during the event. There will also be live entertainment and prizes, including an iPod giveaway.
Local schools are especially urged to get involved. Schools represented by more than 100 participants will be entered to win a drawing for a $1,000 grant for the school's art program.
The series is part of the La Jolla Community Foundation's La Jolla Arts program, to "promote conversation and connections among residents while enhancing the aesthetic character of the community." The foundation ultimately hopes to create 10 to 12 temporary murals around town on private buildings.
