One killed, three injured in early morning crash

A 20-year-old El Cajon man was killed and three other young men were injured when the speeding BMW they were in overturned several times on eastbound Highway 52 near Convoy Street in Clairemont shortly before 1:45 a.m. today, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Three of the four occupants of the vehicle were ejected in the crash, including the front seat passenger who died at the scene, CHP Officer Brad Baehr said. His name was withheld pending family notification.

Also ejected was the driver, 20-year-old Saher Younan of El Cajon, who was taken to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla with severe injuries to his right hand and abrasions to his face and body, Baehr said.

Christopher Hallack, 21, of El Cajon, also was thrown from the car. He was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital for treatment of abrasions to his hands and face, according to Baehr.

Another passenger, 19-year-old Nofel Syleyman of El Cajon, was not ejected and suffered minor injuries, Baehr said.
