A somewhat rare May rain fell May 23, but it didn’t dampen spirits at The Bishop’s School, where family, friends and dignitaries gathered for the graduation of 116 members of the class of 2008.
In remarks that were later posted on the school’s Web site, Headmaster Michael W. Teitelman lauded the graduating senior class as “something truly special.”
He pointed to the class’s four years and more than 20,000 hours of community service as a highlight. But he also pointed to years of arts and athletics achievements - culminating in a record-setting year of athletic attendance - as signs of this class’s vitality.
This class, he pointed, will be going to 65 colleges in the fall.
“We are exceptionally proud of this class’s stellar performance in our classrooms. But their achievements grew over time while they breathed new life into this community. The members of this class ensured a place in Bishop’s history as the most spirited class to grace this campus in memory,” he said.
