National Charity League debutantes shine in traditional white

This year’s crop of National Charity League debutantes, presented at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla recently, made a regal grand entrance on the arms of their dads or other loved ones in traditional white evening gowns. The elegant runway parade was accompanied by enthusiastic applause from the many friends and family members in the audience.

The enchanted evening began with a festive social hour when guests entered the main ballroom. Emcee Rory Devine introduced each of the special seniors, announcing their many accomplishments. Then a sit-down dinner was served, followed by a fashion show put on by Saks (with models from the sophomore and junior classes of National Charity League.) After that, it was dancing till midnight for the young ladies and their proud supporters.

The Ticktocker Class of 2007 featured many lovely local girls. In fact, all of the La Jolla High Schools were represented. Jennifer Keane of La Jolla High sang the National Anthem. Among the many La Jollans in the group were Kate Bell of Bishop’s School, Katie Carbaugh of Cathedral Catholic School, Lauren Zable of Torrey Pines High, and Miquele Smith of La Jolla Country Day.
