Ms.Scripps Memorial Hospital celebrates the holidays

La Jolla’s Scripps Memorial Hospital celebrated the holidays with its 78th Annual Candlelight Ball at the Del Mar Country Club. The glitz and glamour gala – with philanthropist Betty Knight Scripps as general chairman (escorted by guest of honor and native La Jollan Cliff Robertson) – was a successful fundraiser for Scripps, and an enchanted evening for the large group of supporters.

The Country Club was all decked out in Christmas finery, with stunning pink-and-white floral arrangements, twinkling candles that turned the ballroom into a fairyland, and other welcome signs of the season.

Guests enjoyed a festive cocktail reception before entering the beautifully decorated ballroom for dinner and dancing. As usual, the local crowd was dressed to the nines for the affair. Among them were Gary and Eve Fybel (Gary is CEO of Scripps La Jolla), Chris Van Gorder (CEO of Scripps Health) and his wife Rosemay, Helen and Dr. Brian Shore, Dr.’s Catherine Marshall and Trevor Nelson, Dr. Bob Brouillard and Debra Salemme, Dr. Kent and Jill Thompson, Dr. Harold and Carol Shively, Betty and John Warner, Dr. Eric and Susan Topol, Margot Washburn, Ben Schulman and Jan Davis and Blaine and LaVerne Briggs.
