Mother, daughter mystery writers sign books at library

Fans filled the La Jolla Library on April 23 to hear Mary Higgins Clark and her daughter Carol Higgins Clark talk and sign books.

Susan Macbeth, events coordinator for Warwick’s, introduced Mary’s resume: She has sold more than 80 million books, received 18 honorary doctorates and once served as president of the Mystery Writers of America.

She has written a new novel, “Just Take My Heart.”

Her daughter, Carol, is also an accomplished novelist best known for the Reagan Reilly mystery series. She signed copies of its 12th installment, “Cursed.”
