More than 1,000 Boeing employees get layoff notices
Boeing Co. sent layoff notices on Friday to more than 1,000 people, including about 300 workers in Southern California, a company spokesman confirmed.
The notices inform employees that they might be laid off April 23, Boeing spokesman Tim Healy said.
About 300 of the endangered employees are based in California, and the rest of the workers are located throughout the country.
In California, Boeing has operations in El Segundo, Huntington Beach and San Diego.
The layoffs are part of 10,000 job cuts Boeing previously announced.
