Modern music fest set

The fourth annual soundON Festival of Modern Music will be held June 17-19 in the intimate setting of the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library, 1008 Wall Street. The event opens with a free concert at noon June 17 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 700 Prospect, La Jolla.

The festival will feature the library’s ensemble-in-residence NOISE: six acclaimed specialists in the performance of contemporary concert music from across the United States.

NOISE will be joined by three guest artists: contemporary clarinetist Robert Zelickman, cellist Ashley Walters, and violist/composer Andrew Nathaniel McIntosh.
