Memorial service set for La Jolla actress
A memorial service will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the San Diego Repertory Lyceum Space Theater for Priscilla Allen, who starred on the stages of area theaters.
Allen was 70 when she died Aug 14 at her La Jolla home following a long illness. She had performed for more than 40 years with the San Diego Repertory Theatre, Starlight Musical Theater, Vantage Theater as well as others. She also played a role in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s film, “Total Recall.”
She also taught classes at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, Point Loma High and Mesa College and was involved with San Diego Junior Theater.
She was also a member of Greenpeace and Project Wildlife as well as the English Springer Spaniel Rescue Association.
Born in New York on July 19, 1938, she moved to La Jolla and graduated from L Jolla High School and had lived in La Jolla for more than 40 years.
She married Dennis Allen in 1963, a San Diego police officer who was killed in the line of duty in 1977.
Survivors include Jennifer Allen of New York City, Hillary Allen of San Diego and Meredith Christiansen of San Antonio, and three grandchildren.
