Members gather at Timken Museum’s holiday party

Friends of the Timken Museum of Art gathered at the museum Dec. 11 for a members’ holiday party.

The gala featured food, music and a traditional holiday tree adorned with more than 1,000 San Diego-influenced handmade ornaments designed by artists Elizabeth Schlappi and the late Florence Hord.

Guests also had the chance to view the museum’s newest exhibition, “Kimono as Art: The Landscapes of Itchiku Kubota,” which features monumentally scaled kimonos by Kubota that have seldom been seen outside of Japan.
