Meeting Wednesday to focus on LJ Shores planning blueprint

Share

An ad hoc group is hosting an orientation meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday for a committee being formed to review and rewrite the La Jolla Shores Planned District Ordinance (PDO), the community’s blueprint for development.

The meeting will be at the La Jolla Recreation Center, Meeting Room 2.

Tim Lucas of the La Jolla Shores Association is leading the meeting, which will focus on revising zoning regulations governing residential and commercial remodels and new construction in La Jolla Shores. Lucas noted the Shores’ PDO has been in place and unchanged since 1975.

Does the ordinance need to be updated? How does it compare to zoning in the rest of La Jolla? What changes could be made? What is the process of such an update? These and other questions will be addressed at the meeting.
