Meet the LJ Light’s new Lifestyles editor

With this issue, Susan DeMaggio joins the staff of La Jolla Light as Lifestyles editor. DeMaggio was most recently managing editor of Today’s Local News, covering five communities in North County for this now-defunct San Diego Union-Tribune publication. Previously, DeMaggio was features editor at The Muskegon Chronicle in Michigan, and managing editor for a group of lifestyle magazines in the Detroit area.

DeMaggio has a keen interest in the fine arts, as a former ballet dancer and community theater enthusiast. Since her move to Southern California, she’s been spending weekends exploring the art galleries along the coast from Los Angeles to Balboa Park.

In reporting community news for some 20 years, DeMaggio says she’s found her niche, delighting in the people-stories that connect and inspire readers.
