“columnist and expert on the science of food and cooking, Harold McGee will be at Warwick’s Books, 7812 Girard Ave. at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 to promote his new book “Keys to Good Cooking: A Guide to Making the Best of Foods and Recipes.” ($35, The Penguin Press).

The tome is touted as “the perfect companion for navigating a complicated Thanksgiving dinner and ensuring delicious leftovers.”

He previous published the award-winning bestseller “On Food and Cooking.” McGee’s column in the Times is read by gastronomes worldwide.
