Medical students matched up for residencies

Match Day — the annual event at UCSD School of Medicine when students find out where they’ll do their residencies — was filled with family, friends, champagne and good cheer. On March 18, 115 graduating students joined in the excitement, opening their letters simultaneously. Twenty-nine percent of the graduating students are pursuing part or all of their residency training at UCSD Medical Center and 74 percent will stay in California.
