Man injured at Cove in rough surf

A young man was taken to the hospital for treatment after getting fatigued in heavy surf conditions at Boomer’s Beach, just below Scripps Park between Shell Beach and La Jolla Cove, today about 11:45 a.m.

The man was noticeably in pain but his difficulties did not appear severe. A witness on the scene said the surf conditions are extremely choppy today.

Boomer’s is accessible only by scrambling down a rocky path.
