LJHS musicians raising money for trip
Send a La Jolla High student to compete against schools from across the country in San Francisco in May by writing a restaurant or hotel review, or two, or three.
The Madrigals choir and others from the music department are working with Insider Pages in an online fundraiser to raise money for the trip to the Music in the Parks Festival in May.
“Fifty of us are going, including 26 Madrigals,” said Jennifer Weil, choral group president. “It costs $660 per person. Our goal is $5,000.”
Last year, the musical groups couldn’t go on a field trip because they couldn’t raise the necessary funds. This year, they decided things would be different.
“You don’t have to pledge any money, just write reviews,” noted Weil.
Insider pages is paying between 50 cents and $1.50 for every paragraph-long review written on local businesses such as salons, auto shops and other businesses.
