LJCD hosts AIDS support event
Peer educators from La Jolla Country Day’s TRACE program (Teens Respond to AIDS with Caring and Education) gather on Dec. 10 at the finish line of the school’s walk. The event supports ‘Until There is a Cure,’ an organization dedicated to fighting AIDS. Handmade AIDS statistics signs, created by middle school students, adorned the walk around campus, reminding students of the necessity for finding a cure for AIDS. Alumna Candice Wiggins is one of the chief spokespersons for ‘Until There is a Cure.’ Her father, Alan Wiggins, died of AIDS complications when Candice was only 3 years old.
