On Dec. 31, La Jolla Playhouse will host a New Year’s Eve event to celebrate the run of “Xanadu” and the beginning of 2009. The evening will start at 9 p.m. with a performance of “Xanadu” in the Mandell Weiss Theatre. At 10:30 p.m., the party kicks off with DJ-spun tunes, three hosted bars, a dessert buffet and a countdown to 2009.
