The La Jolla/Riford Library will present Thirza Vallois, Internationally Acclaimed Lecturer and Author of "Around and About Paris." In her presentation, Vallois attempts to take those attending on a fascinating journey of Paris, the world's capital of modernity and the arts. She encourages listeners to find out why Paris became a source of inspiration for and a magnet to artists and writers both local and foreign. She will also discuss little-known secrets and revelations about the City of Light.
Vallois contributes regularly on Paris and France to the international media. She has appeared on BBC, PBS, CNN, Discovery, The Travel Channel and the French Cultural Channel.
The lecture will be accompanied by slides and followed by a brief presentation and book signing of Vallois' most recent book, "Aveyron, a Bridge to French Arcadia."
The book is the story of a once destitute, remote corner of France now singled out for its unbeatable, idyllic quality of life.
The lecture is at La Jolla/Riford Library on Wednesday, April 30 at 6 p.m.
