Law firm adds tax specialists

San Diego law firm Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek will expand its tax and estate planning services with the hiring of Lawrence Branton and five other attorneys from Branton & Wilson, a boutique tax, estate planning and employee benefits firm.

Branton will join Seltzer Caplan on Jan. 1 along with James Siegel, David Ruth, Peta Hallisey, Shannon Montisano and Christian Heinrich.

La Jolla resident and managing shareholder Bob Caplan said: “We are pleased to be expanding our services in tax law, employee benefits and ERISA, and complex estate and tax planning for high-net-worth individuals. We find business owners and senior executives often have concerns related to their personal finances and taxes. These clients typically face complicated tax, retirement and estate issues that require highly individualized solutions.”

Two other La Jolla residents who hold key leadership positions at the firm are Jerry McMahon, head of the firm’s Litigation Department and chairman of the firm’s board of directors, and David Dorne, head of the firm’s Business Department.
