A late season storm will move into San Diego County today, with the heaviest precipitation this evening, forecasters said.
Though the center of the storm is not expected over the region until tonight, some showers will likely break out during the afternoon, ahead of the system, according to the National Weather Service. Thunderstorms are also possible, it said.
Rainfall totals around the county will range from a half-inch to an inch- and-a half, but heavier downpours are possible in some areas, to the weather service.
Accompanying the rain, southwest winds are expected to gust to around 50 miles per hour in the mountains this afternoon and evening, mainly near ridge tops and along deserts slopes.
