Ladies of Las Patronas kick off new year of fundraising

The members of Las Patronas held their annual fall luncheon Oct. 21 at the La Jolla Country Club to welcome eight new members and announce plans for the 64th annual Jewell Ball.

Established in 1946, the fundraising and granting organization provides financial assistance to nonprofit agencies that enhance the quality of life in San Diego.

This year’s grant recipients include Alpha Project for the Homeless, Birch Aquarium, Children’s Museum/Museo de los Ninos, Salk Institute for Biological Studies, SD Civic Ballet, SD Public Library Foundation, Sharp Healthcare Foundation, Sprecklels Organ Society, St. Vincent de Paul Village, and Tri-City Hospital Foundation.
