La Jolla woman convicted in rental scam

Dolores Woodson, also known as Dee Woodson, was convicted of grand theft in a rental scam, the city attorney’s office reported.

A news release reported that she advertised a room for rent in a La Jolla home and took deposits.

“The problem was she was a tenant, not the owner of the house, and she took multiple deposits without ever renting the room,” the news release from Jan Goldsmith’s office noted.

As part of her plea agreement, she refunded $2,735 to four known victims, was fined $1,000 and placed on three years probation.
