La Jolla streets closing Saturday morning for race

Several Village streets will be closed Saturday from 6 a.m. until about 11 a.m. for the Coastwise Mile, 5K and “Mutt Mile.”

Coast Boulevard, Cuvier Street, and the west side of Prospect Street will shut down during the event, according to race sponsors.

The 5k course will travel along Prospect Street through the Village to Coast Boulevard with a finish at Ellen Browning Scripps Park.

There’s also a Toddler Trot, a Baby Jogger Division and a three-person relay division.

A portion of the event proceeds will directly benefit the Scripps Park Project and the San Diego Humane Society & SPCA.

Registration will be accepted until 7 p.m. tonight (Friday) at La Jolla Sports Club or Saturday morning when signups begin at 7 a.m.
