La Jolla Shores group to discuss Whitney project on Tuesday

The controversial Whitney, mixed-use project in La Jolla Shores will be discussed at the next La Jolla Shores Advisory Board meeting at 9 a.m. on March 16 at La Jolla Rec Center, 615 Prospect St.

The project, proposing three stories of development on a street corner on a double lot at 2202 & 2206 Avenida De La Playa, envisions ground-floor retail with underground parking and three-bedroom condos on the second and third floors. The property is in the commercial center zone of La Jolla Shores Planned District.

Also on the group’s agenda are two other development projects, the Dessert-Hannekin residence at 8646 Clifridge Ave. and the Marcus residence at 8551 Sugarman Drive.

This is a public meeting of the advisory board to consider recommending approval, conditional approval or denial of development projects.
