La Jolla Historical Society hosts a ‘sweet’ event

The La Jolla Historical Society’s first ice cream social was a welcome break from the heat for the estimated 350 who turned out Saturday at the Wisteria Cottage.

Designed as a way to introduce the society to local youth, the event featured entertainment by Hullabaloo and Hula Hoops from Geppetto’s toys for the first 200 children.

The Society’s offices and archives are located at 7846 Eads Ave, La Jolla. Open to the public Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Exhibition Gallery in the Wisteria Cottage is open Thursday and Friday from noon to 4 p.m.
