La Jolla Highlights: Love your community

The Light spotlights another contribution to our community in our new feature “La Jolla Highlights — one that sends a key message to “Love Your Community. The fourth piece in the Bird Rock Mosaic Art Bench collection, it is located in front of La Jolla Lighting at 5640 La Jolla Blvd. Kevin, Bonnie and Stephanie Hall sponsored the bench, which was created by artists Jane Wheeler and Cathy Riley. The project shows ‘how ugly concrete benches that were destined for demolition have been turned into functional public art,’ according to a note from the Bird Rock Community Council.
