La Jolla High School track season ends

La Jolla High School’s track team ran into some high-powered athletes last weekend at the state championships at Clovis, where local pole vaulter Jeremy McGrath was the only one to get past prelims. He finished eighth, clearing 14-9.

Karly Zlatic ran the 200-meter dash in 25.03, finishing 16th; Vanora Guerard went 36-6 3/4 in the triple jump to finish 15th, and shotputter Jose Aviles (52-10) finished 14th.
