La Jolla High School to hold e-waste event
La Jolla High School is holding an e-waste recycling event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 20 in the lower parking lot at Draper Avenue and Westbourne Street.
Last year, the event organizers collected more than 15 tons of e-waste, all of which was legally recycled according to Senate Bill 20/50. Nothing is refurbished or sent to landfills, according to a news release about the event.
Accepted items range from computers to DVD players and cameras. Batteries and appliances are not permitted.
The event is sponsored by the LJHS PTA and the Clean Campus Club. Proceeds will benefit the school’s clean campus fund.
