La Jolla church celebrates 67 years of diversity

A weekend of activities is planned to mark the 67th anniversary of Prince Chapel By-the-Sea African Methodist Episcopal Church.

The church, at the corner of Cuvier and Pearl streets has planned a community celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday with games, hot dogs and desserts, ethnic food, music and dance to mark its theme, “Celebrating 67 Years of Diversity.” There will also be a garage sale with nothing over $7.60 cent, a book fair and health displays.

On Sunday at 2:30 p.m., there will be an ecumenical worship service for people of all faiths.
