La Jolla Brownies, Girl Scouts send care kits to Haiti

Kyra Spengler’s Girl Scout Troop 3462 and her sister Mila’s Brownie Troop 3635 got some help from girls from other troops on Sunday in packing care kits to send to Haiti through Heart to Heart International. Several La Jolla Elementary and Bird Rock Elementary School families donated contents for the kits, which include items like wash cloths, Band-aids and toothpaste, said Jen Spengler, who organized the event. In all, she said, they packed about 350 kits.
