La Jolla artist named ‘one of best’

Dottie Stanley of La Jolla is one of 200 artists featured in the new book “Best of America Oil Artists & Artisans,” from Kennedy Publishing of Williamsburg.

Three pieces of Stanley’s work appear in the book: “Cleaning Up II” and “Market Place: Campo di Fiori,” both feature workers in a marketplace in Rome, and “Night Dream,” a painting about the moods of women.

Stanley is a fellow of the American Artists Professional League, one of the nation’s oldest art groups. She is also past president of the La Jolla Art Association, and founder and past president of the Allied Artists Association of San Diego.
