La Cuna held its third annual Mother and Daughter Tea at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel recently. Elizabeth Copley of La Jolla was this year’s honoree “for her contributions to improving the lives of children.” Proceeds from the festive afternoon event will benefit Hispanic infants and children in foster care.
The well-dressed young ladies and their proud mothers sipped tea and enjoyed a wide array of finger foods in the ballroom - but not before they received mini make-overs and colorful temporary tattoos, and decorated cookies in the garden area. The youngsters even got balloons and goodie-bags to take home after the fun-filled event.
Former police chief David Bejarano (board chairman) was there to thank the large crowd for their generosity. As usual, La Jollans were among the staunchest supporters. Yolanda Walther-Meade, her daughter Yolanda S. Walther-Meade and Kristi Pieper-Rossbacher were honorary chairs. Yolanda Jr. did the honors as emcee.
Also on the local guest list were Rochelle Bold, Pennie McLaughlin Carlos, Mimi Cohen, Wendy Dick, Laura DuCharme Conboy and Dawn DuCharme, Ana Espana, Cambra Finch, Angela Goodwin, Cristull Hasson, Kristy Johnson, Jena Joyce, Sally Lawrence, Linda McInerny, Valerie Norton and Suzanne Smigliani.
