Judicial Drive link opens

Councilwoman Sherri Lightner on Friday celebrated the opening of Judicial Drive between Executive Drive and La Jolla Village Drive, the newest major north-south connection in the UTC area.

“This opening gives commuters alternatives to using congested La Jolla Village Drive for access to the I-805,” Lightner said in a news release.

When Lightner took office in December 2008, completion of this final segment of road had stalled.

“Working with the community, city staff and the developer of the adjoining property, we were able to get it done,” the councilwoman noted.
