Jewish center plans events

The Jewish Healing Center, a Jewish Family Service program dedicated to providing a uniquely Jewish and spiritual perspective to everyday challenges and crisis situations, presents “Meditation and Renewal” featuring Sylvia Boorstein for two special events in September.

From 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sept. 12, Boorstein will lead participants on “The Power of Forgiveness” at Congregation Beth Israel, 9001 Towne Centre Drive, San Diego. Fee is $30.

The next day, Sept. 13, she will conduct a daylong mini-retreat focusing on mindfulness meditation, the act of seeing things as they are and not as we imagine them to be. It will be held at Congregation Beth El, 8660 Gilman Drive, La Jolla. A kosher vegetarian lunch will be served. Fee is $60 per person.

The cost to participate in both events is $85 per person.
