Jewels, gems, glamour reign over museum’s gala

The San Diego Natural History Museum in Balboa Park unveiled its new “All That Glitters: The Splendor and Science of Gems and Minerals” exhibit at its annual black-tie gala on May 22. At the event, County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Pam Slater-Price was honored for her continued support of the arts and sciences. The gems exhibit will have a two-year run and is being billed as a “blockbuster,” something to definitely check out this summer. (Read more on page B5.)

Gala guests dined on fare prepared by Chef Jeffrey Strauss of Pamplemousse Grill of Del Mar and danced to the music of Peter Duchin and his orchestra.
