Jerry Brown scheduled to tour San Diego biodiesel company today

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown is scheduled to tour a San Diego biodiesel production company Thursday and discuss the green energy economy and reducing the nation’s dependence on foreign oil.

Brown, the state’s attorney general, has pledged to be “an enthusiastic champion for the green sector” as governor and appoint a clean energy jobs czar responsible for ensuring that all energy jobs goals and deadlines are met.

Brown’s Republican opponent, former eBay Chief Executive Officer Meg Whitman, has said that if elected she would create “green tech jobs” by offsetting part of the cost of hiring new workers through a tax credit.
