Interact, Rotary take tools to Tijuana

Share

A forecast of rain didn’t get in the way of the La Jolla High Interact and members of La Jolla Rotary as they set out to build the 15th Project Mercy home in Tijuana on Nov. 12.

But it may have made them move a little faster. Interact and Rotary raise funds to cover the cost of the simple, one-bedroom homes for a Mexican family with four children and then spend the day putting the project together, generally in a day or two.

This year, though, they got as far as getting the roof beams in before the rains came. Neighbors and the family completed the work over the next two days.
