Innovation Night brings out stars for the Playhouse

Some 430 leaders of bio-tech, high-tech and associated service industries got together for an evening of food, drink, networking and theatre at the annual Innovation Night, Dec. 9 at La Jolla Playhouse.

The event, chaired by Len J. Lauer (COO, Qualcomm), Ivor Royston (Managing Partner, Forward Ventures), Duane Roth (CEO, CONNECT) and Susan Dube (Acting VP of Business Development, Cypress Bioscience, Inc.), raised more than $125,000 for La Jolla Playhouse’s education and new play development programs.

Guests enjoyed a pre-show reception by Waters Fine Catering, and bars featuring PaQui Tequila and a craft beer tasting station from Stone Brewing Co. They were then treated to a performance of the world premiere production of the musical “Bonnie & Clyde,” and rounded out the evening with a post-show reception featuring desserts from 410 Degrees, Cupcakes Squared and Eclipse Chocolat. Patricia Navarro at Floral FX, created much of the decor for the evening.
