Indian women topic of panel
Mingei International Museum (MIM) and the Museum of Photographic Arts (MoPA) will present a panel discussion, “Stories of Indian Women: Resistance, Resilience and Transcendence,” 7 p.m. Jan. 19 in the Joan and Irwin Jacobs theater at MoPA in Balboa Park.
The moderator will be Jenni Prisk from Voices for Women.
Curators Carol McCusker and Stephen Huyler will make a presentation about the related exhibits currently on display at the two museums.
Discussion panelists will include Parminder Randhawa, graduate student at University of San Diego’s Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, Simarjeet Sahota, advocate for Victims of Domestic Violence, and Uma Laksman of San Diego Nari, a support group for local Indian women.
