Hotel Parisi mural back up after quick repair job

You may have noticed that the fifth of the Murals of La Jolla series gracing the rear wall of Hotel Parisi, 1111 Prospect St., facing a Herschel Avenue parking lot which went up last Friday was down temporarily on Wednesday morning.

Not to worry, there were issues with the seams of the mural which is in three sections. Adjustments are being made and the repaired artwork was already back up by midday.

The latest mural is the work of New York-based pop icon artist Ryan McGinness, whose work is featured locally at the Quint Gallery, and nationally at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

The mural consists of pop art images of 53 women in various postures and poses, and is part of McGinness’ “Women Series.”
