Historical society members preview surf exhibit
The La Jolla Historical Society hosted a get-together for its major corporate members on June 11 at the Wisteria Cottage, originally built in 1904.
Guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers and browsed the new “Waveriders: Perspectives on Surfing La Jolla 1930-1950” exhibit, meant to introduce the story of those La Jollans who first surfed its beaches and breaks. The society is still looking for stories from residents about this era to collect and preserve a more complete history. For more details, call (858) 459-5335.
